Asia Cup Hockey

In continuation of Blog Dt 31st Aug/ 1st Sept on Asiacup Hockey ,Korea retained the the Asiacup inspire of the Effective resistance leveled by India.However when the final whistle approached when it looked like a possible Draw Korea had scored the winning Goal thereby overcoming the resistance caused by India,just 2 minutes before the Final hoot.In the first Half Korea went ahead with two early goals at 2-0. But in the second half A new revival was witnessed in the performance of India .The two goals which allowed Korea go ahead was returned by India to level the tally.But again Korea went ahead with yet another Goal.the score board Read 3-2.Without long wait the equalizer came from India3-3 which produced the effect of a thriller at Ipoh , perhaps the best thrilling moment in the Tornament.The match to decide the holders of this 9th Asia cup looked as If a battle was being staged at Ipoh. To the dismay of India ,the reasonably good hopes of India turned into vain hopes when Korea two minutes from the Final whistle scored the winner to retain the Trophy.The score board read in favor of Korea at 4-3 Although India could not wrest the Cup from Korea ,the final produced the hopes for India to perform well in the in the Fast approaching World Cup Hockey at Hauge,Netherland.India ,would,however miss their arch rivals Pakistan in the World Cup Hockey. While the Hockey thriller was progressing ,there was yet another soccer match progressing between India & Pakistan. Notwithstanding India escaped with a win 1-0, the match did not stage the expected good performance from India .On On the other hand Pakistan maintained encouraging Defence Tactics.They did not allow India to increase the tally 1-0 they had achieves early in the game.India ,in fact ,missed at least 4 clear chances to score with just the Goalkeeper in front to defend. The glad news I could register today is just the fact that in Asiacup Hockey the Indian Goalkeeper Sreejesh was adjudged as the Best Goal keeper of the event.
