Master of Violin Lalgudi passes away


The sad demise of the violin Master Lalgudi Jayaraman is an irreparable loss to the Carnatic Music. Shri Lalgudi Jayaraman was 82 yearsold.Sri Jayaraman was under treatment for an attack of Paralysis for some time. The end came in his residence at Chennai. Shri Jayaraman is survived by his son G.J.R.Krishnan& Daughter G.J.R.Vijayalakshmi.both Krishnan& Vijayalakshmi are Also famous Violinists. Shri Lalgudi Jayaraman Was born in Chennai on the 17th September1930. Shri Jayaraman is the recipient of numerous Highly acclaimed Awards.He started his Music Carrier as an assistant To a violinist.thereafter he rose to the level of Creating his own Design of Violin in Carnatic Music which later on had become very popular. He received the first of his coveted Awards Nadavidyathilakam in 1963. Since then Many a Awards likePadmashree in 1972,Nadavidyaratnakaran,Sangeethachoodamani& Sangeetha nataka Academi Award in the year 1972 Again in the year 2001 Shri Jayaraman was honored by Padmabhooshan by the Government of India. He had also the distinction of directing one movie Shringaram In the field of Music & received the Best Music director National Award in the year 2006 May his soul rest in Eternal Peace
