ENGLAND vs NEWZEALAND-First Test at Dunedin

In continuation of my earlier Blog on the Test match ,after the Exit of England in their first innings for a paltry score of 167,newZealand in reply dominated the third day & made a lead over England to the extent of 290 runs Though Newzealand had the intention of forcing an innings defeat on England with a big lead as much as 290 run earned on the strength of Rutherford(171)& Brenden McCullum (74),the dream of NewZealand was shattered by th England Captain Alistair Cook & his opening Partner NRD Compton with a century stand & the match is still in progress. In the Second session on the 4th Day England still are in arrears trailing by a massive 170 runs at the moment when this Blog is being attempted. Though an innings defeat to England stands ruled out,the probability of NewZealand forcing a victory can not be totally ruled out now as one more day's play is left after the 2nd& third session today(9th March2013) Cricket being a game of Glorious Uncertainty anything is possible in this Test Match. A collapse alone could, however, enable New Zealand to force a win over England. So ,as it is in a premature stage to decide anything on this first ,let us await the outcome by the end of the Day tomorrow SreedharanMundanat 9th March 2013 07-16 hrs(IST)
